One of the greatest myths of Meals on Wheels is that we only serve senior citizens. The reality is we serve any person at nutritional risk.
Who is at nutritional risk? Anyone who is unable to shop or cook for oneself. The individual could be a senior citizen, disabled or homebound. Anoka- Champlin Meals on Wheels also serves individuals recovering from surgery or another medical issue.
Anoka- Champlin Meals on Wheels is here to serve those at nutritional risk in our community. If you are in need, please call 763-236-8718 to sign up to receive meals. Referrals are taken during regular business hours Monday through Friday. It will take a few days after the referral process to start meal delivery.
Anoka- Champlin Meals on Wheels works in collaboration withMercyHospitalto produce our meals. Because of this partnership, we are able to handle many special dietary needs for those we serve. Some of the specialty diets we can accommodate include: low sodium, diabetic, and low cholesterol. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday. Those we serve can determine the number of days they would like service. Anoka- Champlin Meals on Wheels also provides frozen meals on a limited basis.
